The Canterbury Games Convention took place on the 14th - 16th of August, celebrating its second year. Darius and Dave have created an amazing event which continues to grow and evolve each year. Over 1000 people came to enjoy all things gaming and take part in all the new activities they added from last year, including live shows and a Lego zone.
Flavien joined me this year to run the Hachette Board Games UK demo zone, and we had an amazing weekend sharing our love of games with all the attendees who stopped by the stand. We had 10 tables with a diverse mix of our titles from our best-selling range of Gigamic abstracts to more involved games like the upcoming Greylune. We brought so many games that we also had a library of demo games that we could swap in and out as people requested them. Flavien also ran our MicroMacro banner and had people racing against each other to solve the case with a person on either side of the banner.
But the best part of a convention is the people, whether it is catching up with old friends or making new ones. I love our range of games, and I hope that translated from the discussions, game demos and laughs I shared with all the wonderful people I met over the weekend.
I cannot wait to see you again in Canterbury next year.
